New Beat mix 3

After two mixes I still had a lot of unused new beat/new wave tracks lying around, so there was no. 3.
This time the mix slowly moves from new beat to early house and techno tracks and back to hard beat and new wave.
This mix represents what you would hear on a typical Saturday night in Belgian clubs, somewhere between 1988 and 1989.

1. Breakdown – Carol (classic electro/new beat track by Snowy Red; the remake by Kate B was more trancy but also very popular in the new beat scene. This version is still my favourite.)
2. Welcome to paradise – Front 242 (another classic; b-side to all-time favourite Headhunter - remember the Anton Corbijn video?)
3. Ibiza – Amnesia (still loved by many dj's like The Glimmers and Optimo Espacio; includes the famous piano tune from Halloween)
4. Even now – L&O (another classic one from the legendary Target Records label; the melody of the song is based on The Residents' Diskomo)
5. Can you feel it accapella – Mr Fingers (I still remember when I was the first time I heard this.. Do you?)
6. Baby wants to ride – Jamie Principle (I first heard the Neon and B-Art remakes, but this original version is still second to none)
7. Can you feel it (vocal version) – Mr Fingers (cf. 5)
8. Break 4 Love – Raze (I loved this one from the first time I heard it. For a long time I didn't even know what it was. Sidney Youngblood used the beats on If only I could)
9. I wanna give you devotion - Nomad (British house; very moody - an anthem)
10. White horse – Laid Back (all-time classic)
11. Erotic City – Prince & the Revolution (another one; b-side to Let's go crazy)
12. Going back to my roots (edit) – FPI Project (I was to the original version and then this vocal version dropped; a Louie Vega favourite)
13. Big Fun (Magic Juan 12” mix) – Inner City (melodic techno anthem)
14. Just let go (dub) – Petra & Co (and then the Belgians started to duplicate that sound; the dub version still rocks today)
15. Techno Time – The Maxx (cf. 14)
16. Just as long as I got you – 101 (a cover of the Looney Tunes version of this disco classic)
17. Los niños del parque - Liaisons Dangereuses (EBM classic)
18. Acid Queen – Major Problem (hard beat - i.e. new beat with a harder edge and porn samples - classic)
19. Acid Sex - Nasty Thoughts (cf. 18)
20. Acid in the house – Miss Nicky Trax (major acid new beat classic; bloody brilliant)
21. Business man (re-edit) – Logo (somewhat forgotten moody new wave track; finally got my hands on the 12" last year - thank you discogs!)
22. Elle & Moi – Max Berlin (brooding new wave classic)
